Update from ZEE’s foster mom; “ZEE is now cohabitating with the cat and both have free access to the house. The cat feels comfortable enough around ZEE to sleep on top of ZEE's crate. ZEE is still excited about seeing squirrels, but is responding well to her "leave it" command. ZEE is now able to see and meet other dogs without vocalizing and has the ability to sit in their presence and focus on her foster Mom. ZEE’s training is going well, she is smart and very willing to please. She is becoming a very polite little lady.”
Ken-ZEE (ZEE) is a beautiful, flat coated female border collie, approximately 8-12 months old. She is a little on the small side, measuring 18 inches at the shoulder. She is full of wiggle, and kisses. She loves cuddling, playing with her ball and is very responsive to training. This girl is athletic and we expect she would excel at agility, or flyball. She would also make an excellent running companion. With time and training she may make a brilliant therapy dog. ZEE loves bounding around the back yard and has decided that it is her responsibility to keep it free of birds, and squirrels. Her drive is high, but manageable. ZEE really wants to learn and to please.
ZEE is housebroken and settles very well when she is not working. She sleeps in her create without complaint and will load when asked. ZEE's training is going well. She has already learned to sit, comes when called and walks well on a leash, but she still needs to learn to heal. She loves to great everyone however, she gets very excited and vocal when she sees another dog. We have been working on sitting quietly and waiting until asked to greet.
ZEE tends to be mouthy when she plays, for this reason she should not go to a home with young children. We have been working on this and she has shown improvement. She is also very interested in the cat, so it would be best if she went to a household without cats or small dogs. Because of her fixation with other animals, at least at this stage of her life, she would do best in an environment where she was the only animal and can be the center of attention. See Update above.
ZEE is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
