BLAZE is a soft and fluffy 3 year old rough coat who enjoys being included in all his family’s activities. If you want to take him out to play ball that’s cool. If you are at your desk he’ll flop down at your feet. If you are watching TV he would love to curl up beside you for pets and loving. When you tire of petting his beautiful coat he’ll happily lay quietly beside you.

BLAZE is house and crate trained. It took him only a couple days to get used to his crate and now he will go in on his own to nap during quiet time. It takes him a few minutes to settle in at night, but once settled he’ll sleep quietly through the night. BLAZE learned how to use the doggy door the first day. He knows sit, and does ok with drop when playing ball. BLAZE will need a cat free environment more for his benefit than the cat’s. He shows great interest in our house cat to the extent that he gets very noisy and agitated. He’ll stare at the cat for as long as we’ll let him, and bark at her when she surprises him with an appearance. Otherwise we have found him to be an excellent houseguest.

BLAZE shows moderate interest in toys but nothing holds his interest for long. BLAZE has shown to be more praise motivated than food motivated. That should bode well for him as he could stand to lose 5 or so pounds. He will need mind and body exercised daily to be the best he can be.

BLAZE is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Application and wish to enquire about BLAZE please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. BLAZE is being fostered north of Corning in Tehama County California.
